Throughout the last several decades, as traffic increases in our streets and parking areas, we cannot cease to notice severely damaged pavements mainly caused by salting, sun oxidation, oil spills, heavy vehicles, causing asphalts to deteriorate, especially during freezing and thawing cycles.

Starting from scratch is not an affording solution to many of us. Therefore proper hot mix repairs, along with other maintenance programs have become by far the most popular, efficient, and affordable solution for short and long term periods.

Asphalt Seal Coating

New pavement should be sealed soon after it has been paved. Asphalt pavements that are not sealed are constantly exposed to destructive elements causing expensive damage and shortening the service life of the pavement. A properly designed and constructed asphalt pavement rarely wears out from traffic use. Surface deterioration is primarily caused by weathering: sunlight, water and ice, and the destructive softening effects of chemicals which deteriorate the asphalt.

Asphalt Crack Sealing

Joints or cracks in pavements will allow water, dirt and other foreign materials to penetrate through and beneath pavement. This will cause increasing damage through freezing cycles and displace the subgrade, which will cause further cracking.

This crack sealing procedure has been used for many years, resulting in substantial saving in maintenance costs.

Uses: Crack or joint sealing materials are used on highways, public streets, private roadways and parking lots (residential, commercial and industrial), track and bus terminals, traffic loops, air airport runways. Without an ongoing sealing program, the life span of a paved surface will shorten dramatically.

Traffic Line Removal

Many of the grinders presently used by pavement services do not fully lend themselves to the removal of pavement markings. The majority of grinders work wit the vertical rotary attack of the pavement. This creates a type of trenching or grooving of the pavement. Imperma-Seal has chosen a grinder that is designed specifically for the removal of pavement markings. The horizontal turning of the rotary heads does not create trenches or grooves on the pavement surface because the grinding heads do not continuously fall in circular arc.
